World-renowned performers come to Kansas City

World-renowned performers come to Kansas City

Two of the world's most celebrated musical performers will be appearing in Kansas City during the month of September, courtesy of the Kansas City Symphony. Chris Botti, a jazz trumpeter, and Joyce DiDonato, an operatic mezzo-soprano vocalist, will be performing several concerts this month in conjunction with the symphony.

Rogues return to Leavenworth

Leavenworth, Kan. is welcoming some notorious visitors from the past during the months of September and October. "MUGGED! A Rogue's Gallery of Leavenworth Penitentiary Mug Shots" is an exhibit that showcases mug shots of 19th and 20th century inmates of the Leavenworth United States Federal Penitentiary, the first prison of its kind.

Ron McClellan, commonly known as "Sir" to many of the music students, is not just the band director. At the beginning of this school year, he was also named acting chair of the division of Fine Arts. According to McClellan, his new duties include helping everyone get their jobs done and coordinating events.
