There was one game played with two very competitive teams on this late night activity.
Students and alumni, as well as staff, joined in to play their first round of intramural basketball. Seniors Josh Poteet and Matt Regier were two of the most outgoing players on the court that night, rebounding, scoring and keeping their teammates hopes high.
Sophomore Steph Phillips came to watch the game because her brother, senior Zach Phillips, was playing and because there was free popcorn.
Junior Taylor Bottles kept his team motivated with his brightly colored shorts and pony tailed wig, while the crowd kept feeding off of the teams sense of excitement, especially senior Mitchell Cloud, who became passionate when his basketball expertise was unacknowledged by the referees.
After a pretty intense first half, the teams entered the second half with the Strollin Olins ahead of the Cougars 31 to 21.
Sophomore Austin Conyers enjoyed watching intramurals basketball because he has participated in competitive sports and enjoys watching them.
Both teams kept the same pace throughout the second half, and the crowd remained equally intense as the previous half, some even dressed in entertaining apparel, such as tie-dye shirts, hats, and goggles showing support for their peers.
Quite a few team members made 3-point shots such as Resident Educator Daniel Rincones, junior Yort Clark. and Poteet.
The final score was 64-45 with Poteet's team pulling out the victory.
"It was fun to win, and exciting to be here," Poteet said.
