Pioneers make winning look easy

They held Baker to just 31% shooting for the game. The defense also played well and only allowed Baker to shoot 26.9% from behind the 3-point line. The Pioneers seemed to play swiftly in this game, running down the court and breaking down Baker's defense.
"We played good as a team, we played fairly well. We could have played better, but we beat them pretty handily," junior Bryce Anderson said.
Senior Brenton Bell was the leading scorer for MNU with 18 points. Senior Ben Swinger was the leading rebounder for the team with a total of 14. By the end of the game, even some of the players who do not start, were able to see some time on the court.
On Saturday, Jan. 24, the Pioneers added another win to their season as they defeated Culver-Stockton 75-51, in another blowout HAAC match.
Leading the way in scoring for the Pioneers was Bell with 16 points, followed within a point by Thompkins with 15 and freshman Rustin Dowd with 13.
The Pioneers had no room to worry going into half time, as they secured a 40-26 lead, which they would keep for the remainder of the game.
"Our team gets better and better as the year goes along," sophomore Keith McCullough said. "We must look at every game as if our record is zero and zero and that we must get a win every time."
Up next, the Pioneers will travel to Avila University on Thursday, Jan.28 to take on the fellow HAAC rival at 7:30p.m.
