For some people, Valentine's Day is a special day to show how much they love their significant other, showering them with roses and heart-shaped boxes of chocolates. For others, that is not the case.

To those who are single, Valentine's Day is just another day to remind them that they are alone.

MNU's TV2 television station chose to reach out to those people on Monday, Feb. 15, when they broke the Valentine's Day norm and focused on those who are single with a "Single Awareness Day" show.

The Single Awareness Day show poked fun at the holiday of love, with different segments of comical dating situations.

The biggest shock of the night, though, came with the resignation of Monday Night Live host Melissa Crew. Crew, who has been co-hosting Monday Night Live with Paula Gove since last semester, announced her resignation live on the air.

"I have decided to change my major from Mass Communications to Business Communications," Crew said. "I really enjoy the business side of communications."

The surprises kept coming when Sportz Cage host Brett Stillman interrupted the live taping of the show to walk onto the set and confess his hidden love for Crew, asking her to marry him. In shock, Crew accepted.

"I loved being in front of the crowd. It will be missed for sure," Crew said.

TV2 is now looking for a replacement for Crew. Those who are interested in auditioning can contact General Manager Aaron Tank.
